The Full Pink Moon is called so because of its color in the night sky during the month of April; apparently the name comes from the herb moss pink, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. As the moon rises, it loses its pink hue, but last night it continued to intrigue me far after it returned to its whiter shade. It was so clear and crisp, and the weather was perfect enough that I just sat with my head hanging out of my car, reveling in the beauty of its purity. It gave me such peace. The fact that this moon showed its face on the night of Good Friday made it that much more special, and gave me even more reason to be thankful for the beautiful gifts I've been given by a God who will never stop loving me. Between the significance of Good Friday itself, the thoughtfulness of my father, and the beauty of the Full Pink Moon, my night was one in which I was humbled and made peaceful by all my blessings.
Passing headlights, with the moon in the distance.
Full Pink Moon between the trees.
